Did you know that roughly 72% of the Earth is composed of water? And of that, 97% is salty ocean water and unsuitable for drinking or potable use. With that said, at Deuce Truce, we are good stewards of our water and want to make sure that we use the highest quality for all our products. Sure, it would be easy to use municipal sources as our base, but most if not all use chlorine or chloramines as their primary disinfectant for cleaning the water. This can have an effect on everything it comes in contact with, especially delicate essential oils and fragrances.
You see, these chemicals have an impact on the residuals in not only what we drink, but what we actually use it in. For instance, if you made a pot of coffee with municipal tap water and a pot of coffee with filtered water, you would notice the tap brew might be a little more bitter. That’s because of the chemical impact it has on the flavor of the beans when brewed. Similar to mixing oils with municipal tap water, it may change the final fragrance profile as residual chlorine comes in contact with the fragrances changing the way the end product actually smells.
At Deuce Truce, we believe a solid foundation is THE most critical part of most things in life, especially our products. To ensure there is consistency with every one of our powerful sprays, we only use purified water as our base in all formulas. This includes the removal of Chlorine, Lead, Odor, Taste, and Smell (or CLOTS) from the water, providing us with an ultra purified foundation to work with. The end result is a water that is consistent and will not alter the final fragrance of each product, batch after batch. Yes, we go the extra mile, but to us, it is worth every drop.
